Official GTA 6 Map: What Rockstar Has Revealed
No, Rockstar has not released a full GTA 6 map yet. As of October 27, 2026, it has named the state (Leonida) and its six regions, shown many places in trailers and screenshots, and told previewers the map is about twice the size of GTA 5’s. Previews say the in-game pause map has a satellite-style look, but no complete top-down view has been shown. The full official map arrives with the game on November 19, 2026. Until then, the most complete map is the community map V17, pieced together from official footage.

What the official trailers and screenshots show
| Release | Date | What it adds to the map |
|---|---|---|
| Trailer 1 | Dec 4, 2023 | Vice City’s beaches and skyline, swamps and road signs such as Kelly County |
| Trailer 2 and the Only in Leonida pages | May 6, 2025 | The six regions by name, with screenshots of each |
| An Extended Look | Aug 27, 2026 | About 27 minutes of in-game PS5 footage at street level across Leonida |
| Launch Trailer | Oct 15, 2026 | Brian’s marina in the Keys, among other places |
| Official screenshots | 2023–2026 | Shops, hotels and homes that mappers can place by their surroundings |
None of these show the whole state from above. Mappers work the other way round: they find a building or road in a shot, then fit it onto the map. That is how the community map below is built.
The 2022 GTA 6 leak: what it showed
In September 2022, about 90 clips from an early development build of GTA 6 were posted online after a hack. On September 19, 2022, Rockstar confirmed a “network intrusion” and said work on the game would continue as planned (GameSpot). The clips showed test footage of a Vice City-like city and interiors, not a finished map.
We do not show leaked footage or use it as a source. The leaked build was years older than the game that ships, and Rockstar’s later trailers replaced it as the reference. Search results that promise a “leaked GTA 6 map” usually mean early fan maps drawn from those clips, or the community map built from official trailers since.
The community map: where the full GTA 6 map comes from
The map on this site is the V17 community map by Yanis and the GTA 6 Mapping Project, published with the GTADB landmarks database at gtadb.org under CC BY 4.0. Mappers measure coastlines, roads and buildings from every official trailer, screenshot and preview, and the map has gone through many versions as more footage came out. V17 was last updated on October 18, 2026.
| Part of the map | How reliable before launch |
|---|---|
| Coastline and overall shape | Solid: seen from many angles across trailers |
| Vice City streets and beachfront | Good: the most-filmed area |
| Inland regions (Ambrosia, Mount Kalaga, Grassrivers) | Rougher: fewer shots, so more is estimated |
| Names of small places | Mixed: some from signs in the footage, some placeholders |
| Interiors, collectibles, missions | Unknown until launch |
On our map, places Rockstar named or showed are marked Official with their source, and everything else is labelled Community map, so you can always tell which is which.
What changes on November 19
On launch day the real in-game map exists. We will check every pin against it, correct positions, and start adding collectibles, missions, activities and other categories as they are verified. The page addresses stay the same and your tracker progress carries over. Hub pages for collectibles, missions, vehicles, weapons and cheats are ready for it.
Official map FAQ
Has the GTA 6 map been revealed?
Not in full. Rockstar has named Leonida’s six regions and shown many places in trailers and screenshots, but has not published a complete map. The full in-game map arrives with the game on November 19, 2026.
Is the leaked GTA 6 map real?
The 2022 leak was real footage from an early build, confirmed by Rockstar, but it did not include a finished map. Maps circulating today are fan-made, the best known being the community map built from official trailers.
Will Rockstar release the GTA 6 map before launch?
Rockstar has not said it will. Its previews so far have shown the game at street level, with only glimpses of the satellite-style pause map.
How accurate is the GTA 6 community map?
The overall shape and Vice City are well supported by footage; inland areas and small place names are rougher. Expect corrections at launch.
Where can I see the full GTA 6 map now?
On our GTA 6 map, which shows the V17 community map with every place Rockstar has confirmed marked Official, plus a free tracker.
